•Note the intense cellularity of this lesion
•The green arrows point to the large cells with
extremely large, hyperchromatic nuclei.
•These are the malignant cells of osteocytes origin
•Note the acellular, pink staining material at the center
of the field.
•This is the organic matrix of bone, called osteoid.
•The diagnostic feature of osteosarcoma is the presence
of this malignant osteoid.
