Glioblastoma
Glioblastoma

A high power view of a glioblastoma showing the marked pleomorphism or variation of size and shape of cells and nuclei.
There are primary and secondary forms of the glioblastoma.
Primary GBM's arise de novo in older individuals.
Secondary GBM's arise from previous low grade astrocytomas.
The latter are found in younger individuals and have a better prognosis.
