Astrocytoma •This is a section of brain cut at the level of the parietal lobes. •The arrows indicate a necrotic tumor which is most likely a glioblastoma multiforme, a tumor that is multiforme grossly and microscopically, that is it varies in texture and color grossly and is very pleomorphic microscopically. •The glioblastoma is the most common glioma and is increasing in frequency.
