Intrapontine hemorrhage
Intrapontine hemorrhage

The view is of the base of the brain with frontal lobes on the left and occipital lobes and cerebellum on the right.
A section has been taken through the pons showing a small pontine hemorrhage.
Though small, a hemorrhage in this area is big enough to kill the patient because of its effects on the respiratory and cardiac centers.
