The normal sparsely cellular nonkeratinizing esophageal sqamous epithelium is seen on the right contrasted to the cellular proliferation on the left which fills virtually the entire thickness of the epithelium
Even at low power the cellular portion of the lesion can be seen to have enlarged hyperchromatic nuclei
