Epidemiology
• Rare and associated with ulcerative colitis (usually) and Crohn's disease.

General Gross Description
• Small abscesses or pustules which may coalesce.
• Hyperplastic folds
|
General Microscopic Description
• Microabscesses which may be intrepithelial or below surface.
• Necrosis above lesions may occur.
• Inflammatory infiltrate in submucosa
|
Clinical Correlation
• Respond to treatment of underlying GI disease
• Relatively resistent to other therapy
• ? Steroids
