•Benign peptic ulcer(arrow) has a round to oval punched out
appearance with a necrotic hemorrhagic base
•Margins are smooth and the adjoining intact tissue is not
elevated as is commonly seen in malignant gastric ulcers
•The adjoining rugal folds appear normal
