| Portal Vein Thrombosis
| Portal vein is opened longitudinally.
The lumen is filled with occluding fresh thrombus.
This causes portal hypertension and splenomegaly but
frequently the liver remains intact due to its dual
circulation.
Intraabdominal Infection and hepatocellular carcinoma are
the main causes.
