Hepatocellular carcinoma

This is a case of a hepatocellular carcinoma arising in a cirrhotic liver.
Notice the extremely distorted appearance of this liver.
If you examine the left half of this liver, you will notice that there are multiple nodules separated by depressed scars.
Occupying much of the right half of this image, indicated by the four white arrows, is a nodule of tissue showing some evidence of necrosis, as well as pronounced greenish staining.
This lesion is a hepatocellular carcinoma arising in cirrhosis of the liver.
