Mucinous Cystadenocarcinoma of Appendix
Mucinous Cystadenocarcinoma of Appendix

Tip of the appendix is at the right, and the proximal surgical margin at the left
The lesion is cystic, rather than solid as is more commonly found in tumors of the appendix
The pale whiteness seen through the cyst wall reflects the high mucin content of this tumor
The top portion of the tumor is solid reflecting the combined cystic and solid nature of the lesion
