The protozoa Cryptosporidium is seen as spherical basophilic bodies lined up on the brush border of epithelial cells or lying free in the crypts. Both locations are seen here (arrows)
The lamina propria shows modest acute and chronic inflammation
The protozoa is not tissue invasive
