Foot Processes

The glomerular basement membrane (GBM) has an internal lining of fenestrated endothelial cells (arrow).
On the external aspect of the GMB are visceral epithelial cells or podocytes that have feet-like cytoplasmic processes.
The photograph shows that every other foot process belongs to the same cell. Intervening foot processes belong to another podocyte.
Capillary space (cap), urinary space (us), red blood cell (rbc).
