Transitional Cell Carcinoma
Transitional Cell Carcinoma

The tumor (T) has replaced much of the lower pole of this kidney. It has a light tan color and has a seemingly friable quality. The periphery of the tumor is ill-defined not sharply circumscribed.
The gross feaures do not indicate whether the tumor originated in the renal parenchyma, calyx or pelvis.
Microscopically the tumor was a transitional cell cell carcinoma and therefore arose from the urothelium of a calyx or the pelvis.
