Epidemiology
• reproductive age women
|
General Gross Description
• smooth external surface
• cut surfaces will be meaty and red brown, resembling the thyroid gland
|
General Microscopic Description
• follicles indistinguishable from normal thyroid
|
Clinical Correlation
reproductive age women with unilateral mass (10-15%
bilateral)
• generally incidental finding
• may be functional
