The center of the neoplasm is composed of thyroid follicles containing variable amounts of colloid.
These follicles appear normal and are indistinguishable from those found in the thyroid gland.

proliferation of a meiotic germ cell,
Epidemiology

reproductive age women
General Gross Description

smooth external surface
cut surfaces will be meaty and red brown, resembling the thyroid gland
General Microscopic Description

follicles indistinguishable from normal thyroid
Clinical Correlation
reproductive age women with unilateral mass (10-15% bilateral)
generally incidental finding
may be functional
