Normal Cervix (High Power) • The black arrow points to the squamocolumnar junction. • The red arrow points to the layer of tall columnar endocervical cells overlying several layers of poorly maturing squamous cells. • The squamous cells represent a metaplastic process in which only a few layers of cells have been produced so far and cellular maturation is not advanced. • A few lymphocytes can be seen in the stroma.
