smooth external surface
cut surfaces will be meaty and red brown, resembling the thyroid gland

General Microscopic Description
follicles indistinguishable from normal thyroid

Clinical Correlation reproductive age women with unilateral mass (10-15%
bilateral)
generally incidental finding
may be functional
