Malignant Lymphoma - Diffuse - Small Cell

A medium power view of a diffuse small cell lymphoma.
In this medium power view, the uniformity of the structural features of this type of lymphoma are clearly seen.
Almost every cell in this field is a small lymphocyte, with a nucleus that occupies almost the entire cell.
The nucleus is small, round, evenly staining and does not show any of the indentations typical of cleaved cell lymphomas.
Occasional eosinophilic leukocytes are also seen in this field.
The only other structural features that can be noticed in this field are numerous small blood vessels that supply blood to the tumor.
Small endothelial collections are also seen when the blood vessels are cut tangentially, rather than in cross-section.
