Emphysema • View of a slice of inflated lung. • "A" is apex; "D" is diaphragmatic surface. • Many enlarged airspaces are present in the both lobes, particularly in the upper portions (arrows). • The lower lobe also shows intense congestion and hemorrhage. • Air space enlargment does not involve all alveoli, hence not panacinar.
